About WISTEMS Outreach
About the Newsletter
An online continuation of the STEM in Your Future magazine, this newsletter is aimed at high school age students, with the purpose of inspiring new interest and confidence in STEM careers and skills. This newsletter will focus on providing relatable role models in diverse STEM fields, information about STEM university experiences, and the wide-range of career paths that are possible with a STEM foundation. Written by university students, we hope that this publication allows you to engage with STEM in a more accessible, and relatable way. And if there’s a topic you’d like us to cover, feel free to let us know!
Who is WISTEMS?
The Women in STEM Society at the University of Adelaide was established in 2018 to create a community of women, and those who support diversity in science, technology, engineering, and maths. The club runs social events, and informative talks for university students, and has a focus on providing role models to all levels of education. This newsletter is part of the club’s outreach objective, which focuses on encouraging all students to engage with STEM, and to demonstrate that the people that make up STEM fields might not look like what you expect.
