From the wistems committee
welcome to uni!
We've designed this guide to help you adjust to campus life and learn a bit more about our club
Who is WISTEMS?
WISTEMS is an all student-run club at the University of Adelaide that aims to create a supportive, fun, and inclusive social network for women and other minorities in STEM disciplines. We aim to not only raise awareness of diversity issues in STEM fields but also to promote diversity by encouraging young people, especially young women, to pursue STEM career pathways. We provide events and services, both social and educational, to our members.

Free 3 & 8 hour locker hire in the hub!
Find the 3 hour lockers on Level 4 Hub Central by the student kitchen and the 8 hour lockers on Level 3 Hub Central to the left as you come off the rainbow stairs. Register to use the lockers with AskAdelaide (p.s. some even have outlets to charge your devices!)​
PASS (Peer Assisted Study Session)
Experienced students facilitate free weekly 50-minute study sessions in a friendly, casual environment. They help you to understand, discuss, and practise important course concepts and skills, and to build successful study habits​
Learning Centres (Maths, Writing)
Drop in to the learning centres, in person or online, 10am-4pm Monday-Friday to receive free help from tutors for any course. *Must make scheduled appointment for Writing Centre*​
Free Student Breakfast Tuesday - Friday, 8:30 - 10:30am on Level 5 Union House​
If you are feeling confused and frustrated, trust me, so is everyone else. If you know enough to be able to ask a question to your tutor or lecturer, you are doing amazing!

Meet & Greet - March 13th
-
A casual environment to meet other likeminded students and the WISTEMS committee whilst colouring-in and playing board games. Snacks will be provided!
SGM - March 18th
-
We will be electing up to 2 First-Year Representatives and making some changes to our constitution. Come along to see what is planned for the year too!
Quiz Night - May 23rd
-
Get a team of friends together and enjoy food and drinks as you test your knowledge with our quiz questions. Costumes following the theme are highly encouraged.
Industry Night - Aug 11th

A golden opportunity to network with some industry’s brightest minds and explore career prospects in STEM fields
